Group A

randomclan
The CTF champions and its players have a long history in top level CTF playing in various clans before forming random. There is no question what their strength is and if they lose a single CTF game in the groups it would be considered a huge upset. That said their clan has never really ventured outside of the mod and have only strengthened with a single TAM player ( kr1seboi). If it were top 2 progressing rather than top 3 I could have seen them not making the playoffs but now I can see them fighting it out with the rest.

The CTF runner ups have had a busy pre-season by recruiting players for both TAM and BR disciplines. In draft 1 they were my choice to top the group but with the changes made I think they'll need to ensure they prepare each week. I still believe they'll have enough to easily make the playoffs.

Matrix Squad
The Finnish team have proven to be all-round competitors, demonstrating this point by taking the division 1 bronze in the previous quad cup. These should surely be one of the favourites to make the playoffs this year and fight it out for the medals.

Fatal And Demoniac Angels
The guys of FADA will prove a difficult team for others to bring down. Solid in CTF, although not as much as some of the others in the group, a lot of their members are also active on the cornfl@kes BR server and repeatedly compete in the TAM cups. I see them as an underdog to make the playoffs but not focusing in the match against FADA could lead to another team failing to make the playoffs when they could have.

Most the players in this team have played together in multiple different clans along the years, mainly in CTF, but also in other competitions such as the previous Quad cups. They will prove a tough opposition to break down but I don't think that they will be occupying a playoff place come the end of the group stage. The story could have been so different if they had stayed in group B.

inter FEAR*
Having struggled with finding players in various cups they have recruited before the start of the cup including players such as MaLe. Depending on how they are able to work together with their new players I could see them taking the final playoff spot from another clan.

Group B

CTF*
The two time Quad cup champions are the clear favourites for this cup. Before the groups were published I saw 2 reasons they wouldn't win. 1. They drop; 2. s7yle are able to get some amazing teamwork going come the playoffs. Having strengthened with some crazy signings such as OmegA and sebo the former seems unlikely to happen now. Anything other than first would be a bitter disappointment for this team in the groups and I can't see it happening by any other way than a no show.

s7yle Team
The Manchester City of this cup, jani has gone and signed a brand new squad. Consisting of players more infamous than famous it will be interesting to see whether they last the duration of the group stage. If they prove to be more Roger Federer than Tiger Woods then they should have no problems taking 2nd place.

[Warriors And RevisionistS]*
Group B's FADA they are another team active in the BR scene and should provide tough opposition for all clans in this area. However, they lack experience in TAM having not competed for a few years now and I don't see them beating any of the clans in this discipline. They should however take CTF and BR vs most teams leading it to come down to DDOM. They will need to win some of these maps though if they wish to progress to the playoffs.

consurgo-gaming
Division 2 CTF champions last season they have solid in results in both CTF and TAM and have proven to have an appetite for less popular mods as demonstrated by their activity in Onslaught. Although they might put up a fight I can't see them progressing beyond the groups in this cup.

bizarrRe
A solid TAM/TDM team they should have no problem winning both that and DDOM against most in this cup. Their experience with the translocator will prove the key to their success though and if the other members are practicing these disciplines as much as zEh then they have a chance at making the playoffs in this cup.

uniQue.eSports
Although they may not win the cup they win the award for best attitude. A team which to most peoples minds should have been division 2 in this cup they were willing to play wherever and have fun. My quest as of yet has proven unsuccessful to find them some extra German recruits but I hope they will enjoy the cup anyways. Sadly I don't see them winning a match but they could get a couple draws.
